Thomas Patrick O'Neil, born on 25th October 1952 in St Helens, Merseyside, was an English footballer who played as a defender for various English clubs, including Manchester United, Southport, and Tranmere Rovers. O'Neil began his football career as a schoolboy international in both football and rugby league but ultimately pursued a career in football. He made his first-team debut in the last game of the 1970-1971 season, a 4-3 victory over Manchester City under Frank O'Farrell. O'Neil had a successful career playing for Tranmere Rovers, among other clubs, and was known for his contributions as a defender.
